Vintage 925 Sterling Silver Plata De Jalisco Turquoise Abalone Belt Buckle

Up for sale is a stunning, highly collectible mid-century modern Southwestern/Mexican western belt buckle. Handcrafted in Guadalajara, Mexico by the renowned silver design house Plata de Jalisco, this exquisite piece features a central, hand-etched Aztec / Mayan Sun Calendar medallion.The central medallion is beautifully framed by multi-tier stepped geometric borders inlaid with premium crushed turquoise mosaic work and rare, vibrant, dark iridescent abalone shell slice inserts.  Unlike more common versions featuring just turquoise, this particular buckle incorporates the multi-color abalone shell flash, making it an incredibly rare find for collectors of vintage Mexican silver.
